adieu?
for Riley Hammund
distant,
he said
"the feeling of birds
completely cleared out of the sky."
a shade of isolation,
he sleeps in trains, sheltered from
a scorned sun
raining light from rain clouds
busted open in layers
of thought--
clarities untouchable
in a suspension of sound,
and he stirs as the train
stops, only to arc his lips devilishly
and realign his warm slumber
with the cold tracks underneath.
