draining midnight
with the stars preserved
in the crackle of streetlights,
happiness
can be bottled
too,
like one firefly,
two--
childlike drunken laughter
bending through a fury of concrete
beneath
the buzz
of the city’s stars:
the soundtrack of sleepwalkers
in the bliss of loving
all they have.
